| Obverse [0:4] 11–44 | Ashurnasirpal, great king, strong king, king of the world, king of Assyria, son of Tukultī-Ninurta (II), great king, strong king, king of the world, king of Assyria, son of Adad-nārārī (II) (who was) also great king, strong king, king of the world, king of Assyria; valiant man who acts with the support of Aššur, his lord, and has no rival among the princes of the four quarters, marvelous shepherd, fearless in battle, mighty flood-tide |
| Obverse [4:10] 55–1010 | which has no opponent, the king who subdued (the territory stretching) from the opposite bank of the Tigris to Mount Lebanon and the Great Sea, the entire land Laqû, (and) the land Sūḫu including the city Rapiqu. He conquered from the source of the River Subnat to the interior of the land Nirbu. I brought within the boundaries of my land (the territory stretching) from the passes of Mount Kirruru to the land Gilzānu, from the opposite bank of the Lower Zab to the city Tīl-Bāri which is upstream from the land Zaban, from the city Tīl-ša-Abtāni to the city Tīl-ša-Zabdāni, (and) the cities Ḫirimu (and) Ḫarutu (which are) fortresses of Karduniaš (Babylonia). Finally, I have gained dominion over the entire extensive lands Nairi. |
| Obverse [10:16] 1111–1616 | The city Kalḫu I took in hand for renovation. I cleared away the old ruin hill (and) dug down to water level; I sank (the foundation pit) down to a depth of 120 layers of brick. I founded therein the temple of the god Ninurta, my lord. At that time I created with my skill this statue of the god Ninurta which had not existed previously as an icon of his great divinity out of the best stone of the mountain and red gold. I regarded it as my great divinity in the city Kalḫu. I appointed his festivals in the months Šabāṭu and Ulūlu. I constructed this temple in its entirety. I laid the dais of the god Ninurta, my lord, therein. |
| Obverse [16:19] 1717–1919 | When the god Ninurta, the lord, for eternity sits joyfully on his holy dais in his alluring shrine, may he be truly pleased (and) so command the lengthening of my days, may he proclaim the multiplication of my years, may he love my priesthood, (and) wherever there is battle or wars in which I strive may he cause me to attain my goal. |
