Obverse [0:5] o 1o 1–o 55To the king, my lord: your servant Balasî. Good health to the king, my lord! May Nabû and Marduk bless the king, my lord!
Obverse [5:12] o 66–o 1212Concerning the interpretation of the omen about which the king, my lord, wrote to me: "(It is said that) the king will be vilified amongst his magnates — what losses will ensue?" —
Obverse [12:21] o 1313–interpretations of monthly omens are like this: one is never similar to another, their interpretations go separately.
Reverse [1:12] r 22–r 1212Now this one: if he will be slighted, its explanation can only be the earthquake. It has quaked: that is bad. They should perform the ritual against the earthquake, your gods will (then) make (the evil) pass by. "Ea has done, Ea has undone." He who caused the earthquake has also created the apotropaic ritual against it.
Reverse [12:23] r 1313–Was there no earthquake in the times of the king's fathers and grandfathers? Did I not see earthquakes when I was small? The god has (only) wanted to open the king's ears: "He should pray (literally 'open his fists') to the god, perform the apotropaic ritual and be on his guard."
